We started the day waking up at 5 AM to make sure we were on time to leave.
When we arrived we were asked to be filmed coming off the bus and walking into the school. We were given the tour by a staff member managing the competition, it was clear that this was an Oxford institution but with fresh perspective. Afterwards we met some of the faculty, including the Dean of Oxford and Former Dean of Cornell in New York.
Next, we sat down and we were given a talk on the history of Oxford and Saïd, also discussing what it means to be an entrepreneur and inviting us to their yearly event for young entrepreneurs where they pitch ideas to the room full of industry professionals.
Followed by the award ceremony for the design project. There were two awards given, one for the uniform and one for the merchandising. Maxi & Valeria won the uniform competition and Niamh Nowlan won the Merchandising.
Later on Niamh was seen in WWD which is a huge achievement!
We were taken to lunch in the Oxford cafeteria which where the Hogwarts dining room was set and Harry Potter was filmed. Only students of the University and faculty are allowed to enter, so it was really special.
After that we headed to the Ashmolean for a guided tour geared more towards fashion.
We definitely saw some beautiful artefacts whilst we were there and these shells were my favourite as I hadn't seen something like it before.
Thank you to the Oxford team for making us feel so welcome, I'm sure we'll be back.
